Overall victory in the 14th edition of the 151 Miglia-Trofeo Cetilar has gone to TestaCuore Race, formerly Seas, owned by YCCS member Giacomo Loro Piana. The offshore regatta, which departed on Thursday from Livorno with 180 boats and over 2,000 sailors on the starting line, was characterised by very light wind conditions.
Thanks to a strategically perfect race, the Cookson 50 TestaCuore triumphed over more than 120 boats in the ORC International group (also winning in the ORC group A), a highly competitive fleet that could do little in the face of the excellent performance from the crew racing under the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda burgee.
“We are very happy. The 151 Miglia is a race that we love and have participated in for many years, winning the most important prize is a huge satisfaction for all of our crew”, declared Giacomo Loro Piana, owner of TestaCuore Race, who sailed with brother Pietro Loro Piana on board, also a YCCS Member. “In recent years we had taken part with one of the smallest boats in the entire fleet, this year we were aiming for something more and we got this exceptional success, so we couldn't ask for more.”
The past weekend saw excellent results for several YCCS Members: taking to the podium at the 52 SUPER SERIES Scarlino Sailing Week was Quantum Racing, owned by Doug DeVos, with YCCS Member Federico Michetti in the role of trimmer. At the 'Salone Nautico Venezia Cup' third place went to a team representing the YCCS and captained by Pietro Locatelli, while another third place went to a team flying the YCCS colours at the ESTE 24 Italian Championship in Villasimius, skippered by Antonio Sodo Migliori and with Filippo Maria Molinari in the crew.
Congratulations from the YCCS on these excellent results!
