Racing in the CICO 2022 begins today in Formia, organised by CN Caposele and the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV). The Campionato Italiano delle Classi Olimpiche (Italian Olympic Classes Championship) is taking place in the gulf between Formia and Gaeta for the third time.
The event is the largest organised by the FIV and this year sees 176 Italian teams taking part, as well as some top-level international competitors.
Six regatta courses will be running between Vindicio, Formia and Gaeta for the 10 Olympic classes ILCA 6 and 7, 49er, FX, Nacra 17, 470 Mix, IQ Foil, Formula Kite, in addition to the paralympic 2.4 and Hansa 303 classes.
In the ILCA 7 class, Cesare Barabino, an athlete from the Young Azzurra sporting programme, counts among the 46 competitors.
