The ILCA 7 World Championship gets underway today, and will see Cesare Barabino taking part – an athlete included in the Young Azzurra project promoted by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.

A fleet of 127 competitors, hailing from 45 nations, will do battle through 28 May in Mexico’s Nuevo Vallarta on the Riviera Nayarit, to claim the title.

“I’m very happy to be taking part in the ILCA 7 World Championship for the first time. I’m having excellent trials with the boat. I’m aiming for my best performance to be as competitive as possible in a fleet of the highest level.” commented Cesare Barabino.
