Porto Cervo, 22 September 2021. The Melges 20 European Championship gets underway today and will see 18 teams competing over four days of racing in the crystal-clear waters off Puntaldia Marina in Sardinia.

Brontolo Racing owned by YCCS member Filippo Pacinotti, the defending champion in the Melges 20 Class, will be looking to retain their title. Also participating in the event will be member Pietro Loro Piana with Gone Squatching and Ettore Botticini aboard B.Lex.

At the conclusion of the event the new European Champion will be crowned, as will the winner of the seasonal Melges World League circuit, with the title going to the top team across five class events held in Scarlino, Cala Galera, Malcesine, Villasimius and Puntaldia.
