Grand Final of the circuit set to start tomorrow
Cagliari, 31 October 2021. Adverse weather conditions on the last day of the Youth Foiling Gold Cup Act 3 meant that only one race could be held. The Young Azzurra team was unable to regain ground and finished the leg in fourth place behind Team France and Team Argentina, in third and second place respectively. First place went to the Dutch Sail team.
This morning's dock out took place at around 9 a.m. in weather conditions that would put the technical skills of the teams to the test. Winds of around 18 knots with gusts of up to 20, choppy seas and poor visibility meant the Race Committee was able to complete a single race with an upwind start. Young Azzurra got in a good start and were hot on the heels of leaders Team Argentina up to the third leg, when the boat capsized due to a gust. Despite having lost their advantage, the team were able to recover some ground to cross the finish line in fourth place. Today's result, together with those of the past two days, confirms the team's fourth place finish in the overall classification.
From tomorrow, 1 November, racing in the Grand Final of the circuit will begin, with Young Azzurra facing the five other qualifiers: Dutch Sail, Team France, Okalys, Team Argentina and Equal Sailing.
