Malcesine (VR), Lake Garda, Italy. 30 September 2020. The Young Azzurra team concluded their training sessions this morning in preparation for the third Grand Prix of the Persico 69F circuit.
The event, scheduled to run from tomorrow, 1 October, through 3 October, will once again take place in Malcesine, on Lake Garda. The forecast indicates favourable conditions on the first day of racing, while in the following days the weather may be unstable, so the aim will be to hold as many races as possible tomorrow.
The Young Azzurra will be composed of Ettore Botticini (skipper), Federico Colaninno (flight controller), and Francesca Bergamo and Erika Ratti, who will alternate aboard the Persico 69F monohull. Four teams will take part in the event alongside the YCCS crew: Flyingnikka 47 (Roberto Lacorte, Lorenzo Bressani, Enrico Zennaro) Flyingnikka 74 (Alessio Razeto, Lorenzo De Felice, Andrea Fornaro), Fantastica 2 (Nicola Celon, Umberto De Luca, Pietro De Luca) and Skuillox (Andrea Spagnolli, Kevin Rio, Guido Gallinaro).
"We finished race training today, this morning we managed four races where we reached 31.1 knots, almost our top speed! We also had some close encounters, and we will be very careful during the regatta. We can't wait to race tomorrow!” commented Ettore Botticini.
