Yesterday saw the conclusion of the IMA Maxi European Championship 2024, organised by the Circolo del Remo e della Vela Italia in collaboration with the International Maxi Association. The event brought together 20 maxi yachts and around 400 sailors, including several YCCS members who brought home excellent results.
Victory in the IMA Maxi European Championship went to Bella Mente, followed by Peter Odgen's Jethou, with British Olympian Ian Walker calling tactics, and YCCS member Peter Dubens' North Star, with two-time British Olympic medallist Nick Rogers on board.
In the Maxi 1 division, YCCS member Karel Komarek's Wallycento V claimed the top spot, also clinching the Loro Piana Challenge Trophy, reserved for the first classified yacht in Group 1. Ranked in the top 10 in the overall classification, and in second place in the Maxi 1 division, was the Wally 93 Bullitt, owned by YCCS Member Andrea Recordati.
The YCCS congratulates all Club members and their respective crews on their excellent results.
