Porto Cervo, 8 May 2019. The Sail Racing Palmavela regatta is open to many classes of boats with marked variations between them. From the largest class of ORC boats, to Dragons and Classic yachts down to the little Vipers – new for 2019 – and the Disabled Sailing which will get underway on 9 May.
This year 124 teams from 23 nations are enrolled, with the largest yacht present being the WallyCento Magic Carpet Cubed owned by YCCS member Sir Lindsay Owen Jones.
Sail Racing Palmavela is the first opportunity for the TP52 class to meet in a competitive setting before the 52 Super Series begins. Azzurra – the boat that is the sporting symbol of the YCCS, owned by club members the Roemmers family - is, of course, taking part. Also on the starting line will be club member Tony Langley at the helm of Gladiator and Vladimir Liubomirov helming Bronenosec.
Synergy, owned by members Valentin Zavadnikov, will also take part in the event in different category.
YCCS wishes everyone fair winds!
