Porto Cervo, 22 January 2024. Entries have officially opened for the J/24 European Championship 2024, organised by the YCCS in collaboration with the International and Italian J/24 classes. The Notice of Race is available online here.
The event, open to all J/24 boats, is scheduled from 10 to 16 June. It will officially open on the evening of 12 June with the Skippers’ Briefing followed by a Welcome Cocktail on the panoramic terrace at the YCCS. A total of 10 races are scheduled from 13 June to 16 June, with a maximum of four to be held each day.
The J/24 one-design is one of the most popular keelboats worldwide. Designed in the late 1970s by Rod Johnstone, more than 5000 units are estimated to have been produced, with around 100 fleets active internationally. The J/24 European Championship will be one of the most eagerly awaited events of the 2024 season for the class, and the YCCS is delighted to be able to welcome a fleet that has contributed significantly to the popularity of sailing.
