Yesterday saw the conclusion of the eighth edition of the Rolex NYYC Invitational Cup, a biennial event organised by the New York Yacht Club, which the YCCS team took part in alongside 18 other teams representing the most prestigious clubs in the world. The conclusion of the event was brought forward by a day due to the approach of Hurricane Lee, expected to make landfall later today.
At the conclusion of eight races sailed aboard the IC37 fleet, the team representing the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda finished in the top ten, with a scoreline of 12-13-15-2-2-16-8-8 leaving them in eighth position overall.
Antonio Sodo Migliori, helmsman: "The team performed well, unfortunately we paid for the fact that we sailed four races less than planned and for a rather complicated first day. After that we did quite well, even managing two second places. This is the third time we’ve taken part in this event, and I must say that the level is higher each time."
